Completed Engineering Projects by Precision Engineering Corporation of Oxford, MS

The Pavilion at Ole Miss-New Basketball Arena

PEC was selected as the Civil Engineer on the design team for the Pavilion at Ole Miss. PEC also performed full topographic and utility surveys for use in the design of the new basketball arena and parking garage. The project includes the realignment of Hill Drive, the construction of a parking garage with subsurface levels, and the construction of a new arena. Fitting all of these pieces of the puzzle together has been challenging with the project's location at the heart of the historic campus.

Bancorpsouth Arena & Conference Center Expansion

Rendering by McCarty Architects. PEC performed a geotechnical investigation for the project and is currently performing construction materials testing and special inspection for the project.

Oxford Downtown Parking Garage

The project consisted of design and construction oversight of a 141,800 SF parking structure with 4 levels and 399 spaces. The site was previously used for surface parking. Significant site remediation efforts were required to mitigate construction debris previously buried within the footprint.

The Heights and The Preserve

Making up part of the 800-acre Oxford Commons Planned Unit Development, multiple phases of The Heights and The Preserve are complete and home construction is underway. The Preserve Phase V is in planning with construction to begin soon. Construction is complete on The Heights Phases VII and VIII. These projects serve as a good example of PEC's services from raw land to finished product. PEC has performed all surveying, geotechnical, and civil engineering services throughout all phases of construction. PEC has been involved from the beginning of the original mixed-use development and continues to provide services on new projects as development continues.

Old Oaks

Old Oaks is a 300-plus housing development with two lakes. PEC performed topographic surveys, civil design, geotechnical engineering, construction staking, and construction materials testing. Homes are currently under construction in Phase II of the development.

Fieldstone Farms

Residential development consisting of approximately 100 acres to feature three different housing options. PEC performed civil design and inspection for the development. PEC continues to provide construction materials testing services and foundation inspection prior to placing concrete.

Owens Place IX

PEC was involved with Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing for the first phase of this development called Belle River. PEC prepared Civil Engineering documents and a geotechnical report for the current phase. PEC is currently performing construction materials testing and inspection. PEC has provided services on several other developments for Winters Construction. We are glad to be on the team.

Boundary Surveys

Only a Professional Land Surveyor (Licensed by State property is located) may legally offer and provide land surveying services. PEC is licensed to provide boundary surveys in Mississippi and Tennessee. Attached is information prepared by the Mississippi Association of Professional Surveyors regarding what you should know about surveying your property. If you have any questions about surveys, please give us a call.

Foundation Inspections

PEC performs foundation inspections to evaluate distress in a structure. Based on our evaluation, we can recommend if foundation remediation is necessary. These inspections are often performed during the due diligence phase prior to purchase. PEC can also perform forensic evaluations and provide recommendations for repair. We can also evaluate the drainage around your home or business and provide recommendations if necessary.

Dam Inspections

PEC can perform formal inspections as required by MDEQ for high-hazard inspections. We also perform inspections for due diligence prior to purchase and for owner concerns. PEC has been involved in several dam repair projects to modify spillways, correct slope failures, and complete routine maintenance.

University of Mississippi North Parking Garage

PEC performed construction materials testing and special inspection on a 7-level parking garage. The structure is supported by auger cast piles and is a precast structure. The project included the construction of an access road around the garage and several retaining walls.

University of Mississippi Track Repairs

PEC was recently selected as a Civil Engineer and Geotechnical Engineer on the design team to completely reconstruct the Track and Field facilities at the University of Mississippi. The existing track has experienced distress associated with the settlement of underlying soils.

University of Mississippi Practice Fields

PEC was selected as the Civil Engineer on the design team working on the new football practice fields. PEC also provided full topographic and utility surveys for the project. Construction of the parking garage (another PEC project) reduced the size of the existing practice fields. The new design will reconfigure and expand the fields to provide adequate practice space for the Ole Miss Rebel football team.

University of Mississippi Student Housing II

PEC performed a geotechnical investigation for two new residential buildings to be constructed at the old Guess Hall Site. The investigation was performed prior to the demolition of Guess Hall and required borings through the existing slab. PEC is currently providing construction materials testing and special inspection services.

University of Mississippi Honors College Additions

The University of Mississippi is expanding the Sally Barksdale Honors College. PEC provided geotechnical services during design and is currently performing construction materials testing.

University of Mississippi Coulter Hall Additions

The University of Mississippi is planning additions to the north and east of Coulter Hall. The addition to the east will include a basement and three floors above ground. The addition to the north will be an auditorium. This project was a challenging site design due to the congestion of utilities across the site. The site was upgraded from a seismic site class C to D based on a site-specific shear wave analysis performed by PEC. PEC acted as Civil Engineer on the design team. PEC was recently hired to perform special inspection and construction materials testing during construction.

The Blake

The Blake, Retirement, Assisted Living and Memory Care Community, is currently under construction and scheduled to open fall of 2015. PEC performed the Topographic Survey, Geotechnical Investigation, Phase I ESA, Civil Engineering, Construction Staking, and Construction Materials Testing.

100-foot Bridge Bores

We have the capacity to drill boreholes up to 100 feet in depth. These borings may be required for deep foundation design, excavation design, or seismic site classification per the International Building Code.
